Gold bullion mainly refers to the gold ingots or bars that are refined to immense purity. In the ancient times, gold bullions were used to measure the wealth possessed by nations. These are highly liquid and tangible assets that ensure stability for your investment strategy. Hence, it is definitely a smart move to invest in gold bullion.

You may purchase gold bullions from exchange companies or dealers of precious metals, various brokerage firms and some major banks. Broadly speaking, there are two forms in which you can purchase gold bullion- gold bullion bars and gold bullion coins.

There are around 19 sizes in which gold bullion bars are available. Their weight however ranges from a small 1 gram bar to that of 400 troy ounces known as London Good Delivery Bar. Hence, the variation in weight also leads to variation in the prices of gold bars that extend from below $20 to $140,000. This huge variation in price range provides great opportunities for all kinds of investors.

Another reason that goes in favor of investing in gold bullion bars is that the commission charged for their trading is minimal. Bullion bars that bear a reputable refiner’s name can be sold easily. Polished look and standardized production of these bars by big private manufacturers like Pamp Suisse increases their appeal even more and make them a safe and popular investment option.

Apart from bars, you have the option to invest in gold bullion coins as well. Investment in these coins makes it easy for the investor to keep a track of the daily value of their holdings. This is because most bullion coins consist of pure gold of one troy ounce and the rate of one ounce gold is reported in almost all newspapers, everyday.

These coins are normally sold at a 3-15% premium more than the bullion gold value. However, a major part of the premium can be recovered during the resale. The premium of these coins can be analyzed according to their portability, marketability, convenience and divisibility. Small size, easy storage and convenient weights account for the popularity of these bullion coins. The demand for smaller gold bullion coins as a good investment option has increased tremendously over the past few years.

So, wait no more and divert your additional funds towards a safe and stable investment. When you invest in gold bullion, there is nothing you have to worry about. Now that you have assured profitable investment then why keep an eye on the share market? Just sit back and relax and see your capital growing. Apart from the benefit of returns, you can also sell your gold bullion and convert it into money easily at the time of need. So, do not forget to incorporate gold bullion into your investment plan.
